This post is going to do exactly that. Tell you how my face became red and my eyes teared up as I realised that my card had been rejected buying plasters and savlon for a cut I’d unintentionally gauged on myself. The idea that I had somehow spent several hundred pounds on shopping in two days shocked me.
I stood there fumbling around trying to reenter my pin 4 times in a row and then leaving the shop feeling lost. I called my father in the process and told him every gory detail. He sounded worried and told me he would call back.
Turns out NatWest has had another major IT breakdown. This is the 4th in the last two years. This just can’t be carelessness, and that means they are having problems with money. Which means I’m going to Barclays and sorting my new account out as soon as possible.
I’ve always wondered how we are charged extra if we aren’t able to pay our bills on time. I hope theres a proper investigation after tonight.
